Most people hear what’s happening on their street too late to do anything about it. The roadworks that shut the shops. The consultation that closed last week. The litter pick nobody knew was on.
Autonomy puts local life in one place, tied to your area: news, events, the shops, the gossip, and the things that need sorting. Neighbours post what they know, add evidence, disagree, and vote on what matters most.
Councils and community leaders are in there too. Not running it, and not the reason anyone visits, but close enough to see what residents care about while it still matters.
A structured information service
Local knowledge is scattered across feeds, posters, group chats and word of mouth, and most of it is gone within a day. Autonomy gives charities, trusts, community groups, organisations and the people they serve a structured information service instead: everything tied to a place and a topic, so it can be found, followed and acted on.
A group can put its information where the people it serves will actually come across it, and see what its community is raising, in its own area, in its own words.
Who we are
Autonomy Civic Network CIC is a Sheffield-based Community Interest Company. Autonomy Ads, Autonomy Insights, Powered by Autonomy and the Autonomy platform itself are founder-owned products. The CIC does not own the platform, the software or the brand. It uses them under licence to deliver community work, and can introduce interested organisations to them.
A share of Autonomy Ads income supports the CIC’s community work. As a Community Interest Company, our purpose is community benefit, and our resources are directed to that purpose.
Work with us
We are looking for partners to run pilots with across Sheffield and South Yorkshire — organisations already rooted in their communities: charities, trusts, community groups, councils, housing providers, membership networks, educational institutions and public bodies. We are also open to sponsorship of community activity.
