What is happening around you?
Autonomy is a daily local news and participation app.
People can bring news, an opinion, a question, a plan, an event, an idea or an issue. Others can add information, contribute different viewpoints, vote on what has been added and help establish what the community supports.
A Community Intelligence Network
Start with what is happening
Create a post about something people should know, discuss, organise, celebrate or address. Add a clear title, the information you have, relevant tags, a location and a photograph where useful.

Add Content and viewpoints
Other users can add further information, photographs, experience, evidence and different perspectives. The original post becomes the starting point for a fuller community picture rather than the only version of events.
Vote and dispute
People can vote on posts and Added Content to show what they support or consider important. They can also dispute information and provide evidence or another account where they believe something should be challenged.
Votes and disputes are visible signals of support and disagreement. They do not prove that a claim is objectively true or false.
Comments and discussion
Users can comment on posts, reply to other people and discuss the information, viewpoints and possible ways forward.
Find a way forward
Where a post needs an answer or decision, users can put forward possible Solutions. The community can compare them and vote to show which options have the most support.
The result might be a practical Solution, a shared plan, a clearer conclusion or simply a better organised body of local knowledge.
Find what is relevant to you
Tags, location and distance controls help people find posts relevant to where they live, work or have an interest. Users can search around a postcode, adjust the radius or explore more widely.

Moderation and community standards
Users can report material they believe is abusive, unlawful, sensitive or otherwise unsuitable. Moderation deals with whether content is appropriate for the platform. Legitimate disagreement remains part of the community process.
What do you want to bring?
It can be something serious or ordinary: local news, a night out, a celebration, a question, an idea, a plan, an event or an issue that needs attention.
